Welcome Students

Dear Students:

As Director of Alumni Development and a graduate of this School of Medicine, allow me to welcome you into the SGU family!

You should know that you are now part of one of the most successful and influential medical schools in the world. This is no exaggeration – today, we have over 11,000 physicians practicing all over the world.  Not only do we have more physicians in the United States than any other institution, but our graduates are leaders in their fields, from chairmen of departments to leaders in scientific research.  This, along with the fact that our physicians collectively earn more than 1.5 billion dollars/year, makes us the strongest medical body of its type in the world!

This is an exciting moment for you and for us as well.  If you study hard and dedicate yourself, you will become one of us – a fellow St. George’s alumnus.   There is no better time than now for us to join forces, since not only can you benefit from us, but we from you.

Please make sure to do just that by going to the ALUMNI RELATIONS section of the sgu.edu website, right there on the home page.  There, you will find exciting programs that link our alumni and students together, including Alumni Mentoring and Shadowing programs, and opportunities to meet alumni at True Blue, such as the Alumni Grand Rounds Program.  You will also find a direct link to the School of Medicine Alumni Association.  Make sure that you are a regular visitor, since we have programs and activities that will greatly aid you in your study, residency selection and career.

Feel free to drop by our office at True Blue - the Alumni Relations Office within the Office of Institutional Advancement, located in the left wing of the Founders Library building, and meet our wonderful staff, who will introduce themselves to you.

Once again, on behalf of the St. George’s University Alumni Association, welcome students and future colleagues.  I look forward to seeing you and meeting as many of you as possible.

The future is yours.
